TOP 10 ASIAN TRAVEL BLOGGERS TO WATCH
Did you know that Asia is the world’s largest and most populated continent? Whether you find planning a visit to Asia daunting, exciting, intimidating, thrilling or inspiring, the bloggers below from our Top Asian Travel bloggers to Watch list could help shed some insight and tips into the different places to see and all the different things to do!
The first blogger to make our list is Juno Kim, who was born in Seoul and pursued a career as a mechanical engineer. She gave up this role to pursue her passion, and since her travel blog was gaining popularity, she took the plunge to pursue it as a full-time gig. From Namibia to Machu Picchu to the Kingdom of Bhutan, this girl has lots of stories to tell!
Second on the list we have the adventure couple Dave and Deb who created The Planet D blog. Their vision is to encourage people to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams and so they created the blog with a desire to encourage people to leave their comfort zones just like travel helped them to break out of their comfort zones. They left their hometown in Canada to explore more of Asia, Central/South America and Africa.
Next on the list is Austin Bush who graduated from the University of Oregon, but then received a scholarship to go to Chiang Mai and study Thai and then ended up moving to Chiang Mai permanently. He uses his writing and photography to express his stories and his experiences and he has held many photography exhibitions around Thailand. If you’re looking for an expert on Thailand, Austin is your go-to guy.
We have another travel couple on the list with Chris and Angela. They were a happy, normal American couple until one day they decided that two weeks of vacation wasn’t enough and the needed more time to go out and see the world. They bought one-way tickets to Chiang Mai and never ended up getting their return tickets home! For anyone who is curious about what it is like to live and experience Thailand as local expats, these lovebirds want to inspire.
The next blogger to make the list is Mariellen Ward, a blogger and travel writer from Canada who decided to make India her second home. Her blog’s vision is to inspire people to travel in a way that transforms them, and her main expertise is travelling within India. The blog covers other Asian destinations as well but when it first started, her main goal was to introduce India to the Western world while hoping to inspire them to see India’s intrinsic beauty just as she saw it.
Next on the list is a blog dedicated to all things Japan. The creator of the blog is Australian-born Deano Wormald, and first created the site as a hobby, but over the years it has turned into a useful resource for anyone planning a trip to Japan or just looking for fascinating information regarding the country. The blog is filled with amazing photographs of Japan and includes a comprehensive section on Travel Tips and Planning.
Moving on to the next blogger we have Stacey Kuyf, who headlines her blog with “Little by little…One travels far- tales of a directionally-challenged girl getting lost around the world”. She is all about the adventurous and adrenaline-seeking life, which is why at the age of 21, she decided to leave New Zealand and follow her desire to see and experience the world outside her hometown. Her blog focuses on long term travel as she doesn’t just hop around from one place to another, but rather stays for a longer time to experience the culture, do freelance work or even find jobs in those places. If you’re looking for adventure, she’s the blogger for you.
If you’re on a budget, then this blog is definitely one to check out! The Poor Traveler was created by Yoshke Dimen and Vis Carlos when they first took a trip together that ended up being a disaster on their budget. All was not lost however, as this was what inspired them to start their blog. They wanted a place to document their travels but more importantly, they wanted to provide tips and advice so that other travellers could learn from their mistakes. Their blog encourages people to explore more of the world but also has the ability to inspire people to “save bigger and go farther”.
The next blog on the list is The Travel Ninjaz which was created by the Americans couple, Steve and Vanessa, who wanted to see more of Asia and go beyond what they knew. They are fans of exploring the unknown and going beyond the status quo by sharing their experiences in the non-touristy areas of Asia. From being married to their careers to then following their daydreams of being fulltime travelers, they were able to take the plunge, explore the world and share their knowledge with other explorers.
The final blogger to make the list is Aileen Adalid, a Filipino blogger and digital nomad. She quit her corporate career in her early twenties to follow her desire to see the world and it is her goal to inspire and motivate people to satisfy their wanderlust. She is a lifestyle and travel blogger from the Philippines who now writes and vlogs about her voyages all over the world, including Antarctica!
